Description: Giovanni Angelo Braschi on February 29, 1775 VI. He was elected as the 250th Pope of Rome under the name Pius. Church revenues sent to Rome by the Habsburg Empire II. In 1781, the Holy Roman Emperor Joseph and King of Hungary closed it in the spirit of enlightened absolutism and brought the papal bulls under his control. VI. Pius took a firm stand against Josephinism. In 1784, he traveled to Vienna (reverse Canossa district) to personally convince II. Józsefet about withdrawing his measure, but his attempt remained unsuccessful. During the great French Revolution, in 1797, he lost the papal estates in France and was deprived of the ecclesiastical state. He was taken to Venice on Napoleon's orders and died in captivity there. Bologna became part of the Papal States in 1506, the original 10 zecchini coin was minted here in 1787 and is very rare.
