| Description: | Otto von Bismarck was a statesman from a Prussian family who was prime minister of Prussia from 1862-1871 and then of the German Empire from 1871. Under his leadership, the second German Empire became a unified, economically and militarily strong superpower, with a social, health insurance and education system that is still effective today. Already at the beginning of his political career, he became known in a short time due to his strong conservative views, his childhood relationship with some members of the House of Hohenzollern, and his talent. At the age of thirty-six, without any experience, he became the holder of the most important Prussian diplomatic post. He became the ambassador of Prussia in the new federal parliament. Bismarck was a Prussian nationalist who fought against German unification while it was led by Austria. However, after the Battle of Königgratz, he was no longer interested in Prussian greatness, but was led by German unity. He became the creator of the modern constitutional order, who created a central government capable of development instead of a loose confederation of small states.
