Kapos Valley series pieces

The Kapos Valley Celts lived in the western part of the Carpathian Basin, in the area of the present-day Kapos Valley, in the 4th–1st centuries BC, at the end of the Iron Age. These Celtic communities, probably the Eraviscus tribe, played an important role in the economic and cultural life of the region. Their archaeological finds, such as jewelry, ceramics and coins, testify to their high level of craftsmanship and economic relations. The coins of the Kapos Valley Celts, which often depict stylized human heads and animal figures, reflect Hellenistic coinage influences and prove their trade relations with the southern and western regions. The geographical features of the region, such as the proximity of the Danube, facilitated trade and cultural interactions, making the Kapos Valley an important center of this part of the Celtic world.
